Winners of 2023 National TVET Award Were Announced

Millennium Foundation organized the National TVET Awards Gala Ceremony 2023. The winners in four categories were revealed and awarded.

Zebur Bolkvadze, a student of the beekeeping program at College “Blacksea” won the title of the 2023 TVET Student of the Year.

Vlada Khimenko, an IT teacher at “Blacksea” College, earned the title of the 2023 TVET Teacher of the Year.

“Mermisi” College, with the Textile Studies program, was named the TVET Program of 2023.

“BK Construction” was awarded the title of TVET Business Partner of 2023.

This year, alongside the main competition categories, special prizes were established by the competition partners: the Parliament of Georgia, Skills Agency, and the Embassy of Israel in Georgia.

The Parliament of Georgia awarded the prize for the promotion of inclusive professional education to “Spectri” College.

Khatuna Abuladze and the Culinary Arts program at 'Blacksea' College were awarded the special prize by The Skills Agency.

The Embassy of Israel awarded the prize to Ishkhan Vardanian, a student of the veterinary program at "Opizari" College.

The gala award ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, deputy ministers, members of parliament, representatives from executive and legislative bodies, the Ambassador of the United States, the Ambassador of Israel, embassy delegates, members of the Millennium Foundation and Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation, international donor organizations, as well as representatives from the vocational education sector and business.

The National TVET Awards, held since 2017, aim to develop and promote vocational education as a crucial component in strengthening the country's economy. The Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation is the main sponsor, and the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia supports the competition.
